I'm taking part in the Swim for Stroke challenge!
I joined #TeamStroke for Swim for Stroke.
On the 11th August 2022 out of the blue i suffered a right sided MCA stroke which i found out a few months later i wasnt expected to walk away from. After recovering well , 2023 has brought its own challenges having now been diagnosed with post stroke epilepsy following multiple seizures since the start of the year.
I've decided to join the swim for stroke challenge for 2 reasons.
1 because i want to give back and know im doing something to support people that are and may go through the life changing events i have
2 i've always loved swimming and will do anything to look after myself and reduce the risk of future issues
between now and the end of november it officially means swimming 20.5 miles (1650) lengths of my local pool (in stages). it covers the distance of the english channel and i do have a secret unofficial target of doubling the target.
