I'm swimming the length of the channel for the Stroke challenge!
I joined #TeamStroke for Swim for Stroke.
As a nursing associate on the acute stroke unit at York hospital I see what a stroke can do first hand, I am passionate about raising money and awareness to people who have suffered a stroke.
Every 5 minutes in the Uk someone has a stroke, that’s more than 100,000 a year! With 1.3 million stroke survivors.
Stroke Association supports people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
I will be swimming 21 miles in a pool that’s 1,352 length of a pool! I have set myself to complete this by Christmas Day 2023 (hopefully before) by going weekly to a pool.
Help me make a change.xXx

Week 5 and 6
Sunday 17th SepIt’s been two weeks since my last update, I went to wales on holiday and it didn’t have any local swimming holes 😭 so I went last Thursday and did a mile so currently 6.5 miles, 13 kms or 10460 meters.
Apparently there is a nice wild swim on a farm near Wheldrake so do I brave it and pretend it’s like the actual channel
In some cold water 🥶
Currently at £411, thank you for all your support.x
