Swim for Stroke

I'm taking part in the Swim for Stroke challenge!

I've decided to Swim for Stroke between now and what would have been my Gromps' 83rd Birthday on Monday 4th January 2024.

I am aiming to swim the length of the English Chanel from England to France, which is 20.5 miles.

The pool I swim at usually is 22 meters in length. So that will be the equivalent of 1500 lengths!

I average around 30 lengths in the morning. So will need to swim three to four times a week to meet my goal.

I'll be doing my swimming alongside my normal schedule of training in Tetsudo twice a week, so will be doing a fair amount of exercise!

I'm beginning to think living off Jaffacakes as 80% of my diet may need to change....

I've decided to fundraise for the Stroke Association as it's a cause that's close to my heart. My much loved Gromps passed away from a stroke in 2020, and has left a large mouse shaped hole in my heart.

I also find the run up to Christmas and Gromps' birthday particularly hard, so am hoping a focus on exercise may help at a normally difficult time.
