Swim for Stroke

To mark Steve’s one year on recovery from a stroke, myself and my lovely future son-in-law, Charlie, are taking part in the Swim for Stroke Challenge! Together we are aiming to swim 20.5 miles over the next 6 weeks-that’s the width of the English Channel

I joined #TeamStroke for Swim for Stroke.

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

660 lengths done!

Saturday 23rd Dec
So I’ve done it! 660 lengths in 5 weeks (equivalent to halfway across the English Channel). Charlie is on his last lengths too and on track to finish by the new year. Thank you to those of you have supported and/or donated 😊 A year ago we didn’t know what the future would hold and, although thankfully Steve has made an amazing recovery, I know there are many challenges to overcome when stroke hits out of the blue and everyone’s recovery is different. Any money raised will help to support stroke victims and their families at what is a difficult and scary time.

And we’re off!

Monday 20th Nov
First Swim for Stroke this morning and 50 lengths done ✅ Only 1270 to go!
