Leona Feltwell-Crompton

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2027

I am taking part in a 10k as part of #TeamStroke

In may 2027 I will be taking part in an 10k in memory of my Nana. At the end of 2019 my Nana suffered a stroke which lead to right sided paralysis, as well as massively affecting her speech. Only a short while later (march 2020) she sadly passed away surrounded by people that loved and cared for her. My Nana was one of our primary carers, ensuring we were safe, loved and cared for each day for the most part of our childhood. From the age of 3-10 she took me too and from school every day, doing the tasks those of a motherly figure would usually do.
Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. With strength, determination and the right support, recovery is possible.

By taking on this challenge with Team Stroke, I'll be fundraising to provide tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year, fund vital scientific research, and campaign to secure the best care and support for everyone affected by stroke.

Every donation helps someone find strength through support at a time they need it most. Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me.
