AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run 2025

I'm taking part in the 2025 Great Birmingham Run as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the 2025 Great Birmingham Run.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

In October 2024 my dad, Graham suffered a stroke. We have been very lucky in that he has regained most of his previous strength, but this has been a very worrying and stressful time. Dad spent a month in Evesham hospital undergoing rehab. Evesham work closely with the stroke association and so I’ve decided to run the Birmingham half marathon to raise money for further research and support for families affected by stroke. I am new to running, so this is quite the task!! Any support you could give would be hugely appreciated. Thank you xx
