Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026

I'm taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

Elizabeth and I are taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke in honour of mother, Carol Ranyard, who passed away from a stroke on 26 August 2025.

A little information on what the Stroke Association do:

We are racing for the Stroke Association to thank them for all of the support our family received in recent years and for other families going through this.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Tuesday 24th Feb
I completed my first run in 6 weeks after an ill timed case of bursitis in my right knee. After a quick trip to a physio, who told me I was fine, I'm back to training. Beth has been smashing out the runs in my stead. Hopefully the Scottish weather smiles on our training schedule in the next 3 months.
