Edinburgh Half Marathon 2026

James and I are taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke i honour of James' mother, Carol Ranyard. Carol passed away from a stroke on 26 August 2025.

A little information on what the Stroke Association do:

We are racing for the Stroke Association to thank them for all of the support our family received in recent years and for other families going through this.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Training update!

Tuesday 24th Feb

We have been training through winter in Edinburgh (with a few warmer runs in California over Christmas). James took a training break while he recovered from a small knee injury. He restarted this week and feels great!

I hit 10k a few weeks ago and have been running 3 times a week until I got a cold. Hoping to get back to it later this week.

We're looking forward to Spring runs soon!
