Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. With strength, determination and the right support, recovery is possible.

By taking on this challenge with Team Stroke, I'll be fundraising to provide tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year, fund vital scientific research, and campaign to secure the best care and support for everyone affected by stroke.

Monday 18th May

Running the marathon in Edinburgh for the stroke association means more to me than just crossing a finish line. When I was younger, my grandad Gordon sadly suffered a stroke, and seeing someone so close to me go through that was something I’ll never forget. My grandad was my best friend, and despite everything he faced with his health, he always remained positive, strong, and determined. Taking on this marathon is my way of honouring him and raising awareness for everyone affected by strokes — not only those who suffer them, but also the families around them. I want to support the people who need rehabilitation, care, and encouragement during such life-changing times, and hopefully help make a difference through every mile I run.
