I'm taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Cardiff Half Marathon 2025!
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
Currently, 240 people wake up to the impact of stroke everyday. I am running the Half Marathon on behalf of the Stroke Association Charity as I continue to witness the impact a stroke can have on individuals and their families every day in a professional and personal capacity. I am running in memory of my Grandmother, Colleen, as this year marks three years since she passed away and what would of been her 85th birthday in October. My training started in January with the Couch to 5k, where I struggled to complete 1k initially. I am continually grateful to be physically able to challenge myself to complete this in support of those who are no longer able to following the impact of a stroke.
Thank you so much for your support. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and going to a worthy cause supporting people to rebuild their lives following the impact of a stroke.
Best wishes,
Charlotte
