Running with Purpose: Fighting Stroke Together
I joined #TeamStroke for the 2025 Great Birmingham Run.
Hi everyone,
I am taking on the challenge of running a 10K to raise money for a cause that means the world to me: stroke awareness and support. Over the years, I have lost loved ones to strokes and have seen firsthand how devastating and life-altering they can be. From the suddenness of it to the long road of recovery, or sometimes sadly no recovery at all, it is something that leaves a permanent mark not only on the person who suffers the stroke but also on everyone around them.
This run is not just about fitness for me. It is about fighting back. It is for those who did not get to recover. For those who are still fighting. And for those who live every day with the lasting impact of stroke, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
The money I raise will go directly to an incredible charity that funds vital stroke research, supports survivors and their families, and spreads awareness that could save lives. Stroke does not discriminate. It can happen to anyone, at any age. The more we talk about it, the more we know the signs, and the more we can help.
So whether you can donate a little or a lot, every bit helps. Let us make a difference together.
