My dad, Alex. Dad started having small strokes a few years ago, then some pretty big ones in 2023. They carried on until we sadly lost him earlier this year.
Throughout this whole process, @thestrokeassociation have been there supporting us. They helped my dad rebuild and recover so he could carry on as Dad™️ for as long as he could. Then as things progressed they were a lifeline for me and my mam. Check-ins and support when everything seemed to be a bit fragile, having someone on the other end of the phone who knew exactly what we were going through and exactly what to say in that moment, made an immeasurable difference.
By way of thanks, @tphilno.8 and I are running Yorkshire Marathon to raise some funds to give back what I’ve taken.
I love and miss my dad. I’m running for him, even though he thought running was stupid.
