I'm taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for the Stroke Association
Hi Everyone,
This year, I have decided to take part in the Great North Run and to raise money for the Stroke Assocation. This charity helps out people who have experienced a stroke in their lives, as well as supporting those affected around them. My dad experienced a stroke aged 35. Being a younger person, the stroke association was huge part in his rehabilitation, both physically and mentally. At the other end of the spectrum, my nanna had a stroke 4 years ago, and her needs were different from my dads. The stroke association were also able to aid my family in caring for her. They appreciate strokes can affect anyone, young or old, and I want to acknowledge the work they do.

A bit about the charity:
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
The Stroke Assocation is there to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, working with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support.
