Starting in Newcastle, crossing the iconic Tyne Bridge and ending at South Shields coast, this fantastic 13.1 mile route will be filled with musical entertainment, charity cheer buses and thousands of spectators all rooting for you. It's not one to miss.

Charity place

All of our 2024 charity places have now been filled.  Therefore, we are no longer accepting charity place registrations.  You can, however, still register if you already have an own place secured as an own place runner.

To register for one of our limited charity places in the Great North Run, you will be required to pay a £30 registration fee and commit to raising a minimum sponsorship target (not including gift aid) of £350.

Own place

If you have secured your own place through the Great North Run directly, we would love for you to join #TeamStroke. Those who secure their own place will have no minimum sponsorship target, but everything you do raise will help rebuild lives after stroke.

Why join Team Stroke?

As part of Team Stroke you'll get a free running vest, fundraising materials, training tips and fundraising advice, one-to-one support and we'll also be there on the day, ready and waiting to cheer you on as you run past our double-decker cheerbus! We'll also be waiting to celebrate with you post-event in the Charity Village, with plenty of drinks and snacks.

Everyone deserves to live the best life they can after a stroke. Taking part in the Great North Run means you are part of the team helping us to continue the work that we do, such as funding stroke support services and researching better treatments, care and rehabilitation.
