Stride for Stroke

I'm taking part in the Stride for Stroke challenge!

I joined #TeamStroke for Stride for Stroke. I will be taking one step for each of the 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK. The 1.3 million steps challenge works out at 10,000 steps a day for 130 days.

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

My updates

The day it happened

Tuesday 9th May
I was getting tremendous stabbing pains behind my right eye and very bad headache, migraine type for 2 weeks.
Went to doctors and they said it was most probably just synas trouble and gave me pain killers what didn’t help.

On March 22nd I was getting my year old to
sleep on sofa and I fell to sleep too, woke up shortly after with a horrible feeling in my head and my eye was shut at this time the pain had gone to the back of my neck.

We went upto hospital sat there for a few hours before they scanned me, by then 7am my eye had dropped so was sent to the Eye department.
Doctor came and got me from the Eye department and said I needed to be transferred to Lincoln county hospital as I had suffered a stroke.
My heart sank at only 37 I only thought strokes happened in old age.

I got to LCH and spent 4 days there having scans, eye treatment and physio, I was so scared I wouldn’t see my kids again.

I have suffered 3rd nerve damage behind right eye and lost my blind spot so can’t drive now.
I get so tired very very easy so can’t walk as far as I could before the stroke.
this fundraiser is to help me get back to myself by walking little further each day and raise funds for the nurses,
The support from the stroke team i received once I can home was Fantastic they had so much time for me and listened.

From the start

Sunday 7th May
