I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Hi,

So, I haven't ran the Royal Parks Half for about six years, so have been out of the running world for some time!

However it's never too late to achieve your goals and kick the extra weight.

This time round I am running for Stroke Association, something which is close to my heart. There are over 100,000 people who suffer with strokes each year in the UK, and the money I raise will help and support those who have lost loved ones, or those who are suffering with the after effects following a stroke.

Before my daughter was born, exactly two months prior. My late Nanny Jacque had a stroke which resulted in her instantly entering the last stages of 'end of life care'. Sadly to she went to sleep and entered heaven 8 days later with all her loved ones by her side. My Nan was like my second mum and the Matriarch of the Woodward Clan!

So in her memory, I am raising some cash to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Honouring my late Nanny Jacqueline Woodward.
