Thank you for checking out my fundraising page 💜

This year I'm running the London Marathon for the Stroke Association. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm no stranger to running and that running London has been a huge personal goal of mine. But here's the thing, I stepped in at the last minute to take another runner’s place, which means I have just 10 weeks to prepare for 26.2 miles. I'm giving it my all and have already covered 68km (42 miles) in my first week of training.
I’m running in memory of my grandparents, Mick and Celia.
After many happy years enjoying retirement together, my grandad suffered his first stroke. From that moment on, my grandma became his carer, supporting him with strength through years of recovery and two further strokes. They were determined to stay independent, to keep living life together in their own way, and she gave everything to make that possible.
Then, after years of caring for him, my grandma suffered a major stroke herself. Their lives changed forever. She moved into care and passed away last year.
The Stroke Association support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They offer their Stroke Support Helpline which offers a constant voice of comfort and support throughout a stroke survivor's recovery journey. They also support vital scientific research into stroke prevention, treatment and recovery. They approve £3 million of research every year. Beyond this, they work with decision makers to develop a strong, joined-up cardiovascular disease plan that puts stroke front and centre.
If you're able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution will make a real difference.
Reaching my fundraising target will fund the entire Stroke Support Helpline for one day, giving vital, tailored support and information to stroke survivors and their loved ones.
Thank you so much for your support. As one final ask, please consider sharing this page which would also be an enormous help.
