I'm taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I’m delighted to be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of the Stroke Association – a charity that has meant so much to our close friend, Jermaine, during her recovery from a stroke.
As a young stroke survivor, Jermaine has faced not only the physical challenges of recovery but also the emotional impact and acceptance that come with such a life-changing event. The Stroke Association has been there to support her every step of the way, and the money raised will help other stroke survivors and their families receive that same vital support.
This will be my very first race of any kind. Having spent most of my life believing I was someone who “couldn’t run”, I laced up my trainers for the first time last October, aged 52, and I haven’t looked back since.
Running the Cardiff Half Marathon is something I never imagined I’d be able to do, and I’m incredibly proud to be taking on this challenge for such an important cause.

Tuesday 21st JulI’m so excited (and a little nervous!) to share that I’ll be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of the Stroke Association.
This will be my first ever race, something I never thought I’d say after spending most of my life believing I “couldn’t run”.
I’ve now been following my training plan for several weeks and I’m loving every minute of it. Each run is taking me a little further than I ever thought possible, and I’m looking forward to sharing the highs, the challenges and the milestones along the way.
