Worthing Half Marathon... here we go!

I've finally pressed the button on my first ever half marathon!

Having had an intermittently love/dislike relationship with running, my current "running is ok" phase has made me do something I never thought I'd love running enough to do... sign up for a half marathon and why not make it even better by raising a bit for an important cause!

It's a cause close to our family- my Mum unexpectedly had a stroke Christmas of 2023 and although we were fortunate that her mobility and speech suffered little long term effect, nothing prepares you for how the sufferer and their family's lives change overnight with no warning. 



Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Scenic week for training

Friday 3rd Apr
Only 1 month until the half marathon and it's been a scenic week for training runs (we'll ignore the basically vertical cliff i hit at the end of the beach).
I'm nearly half way to my fundraising target if anyone wants to inspire me to get up early for this week's long run...

New gear and hopefully some idea!

Saturday 7th Mar
While it is the subject of much contention with Martin about how much I spent on these, I’m very excited about my half marathon purchase (and stop my feet doubling in size like they did on my 13k this week!) Would wholeheartedly appreciate any donations to this good cause… and would help to justify my spend to my husband 🤣
