To Dad: Chillswim Coniston 5.25 miles end to end
On 21st June 2025, I'll be completing Chillswim Coniston End to End 5.25 miles for my Dad who passed away in December 2024.
He loved the lake district and spent many happy holidays in and around the Coniston area so this challenge feels like a fitting tribute to him. When I entered in October I thought he'd be around to watch me swim one of his favourite lakes but now I'm swimming in his memory instead. I hope he's proud of me.
The Stroke Association was an important charity for him. After having a mini-stroke during covid lockdown that had a huge impact on his life he was determined to support others going through similar experiences and became a volunteer befriender to other stroke survivors. Despite his own many health battles over the last four years, he was determined to help and support others through their battles. I hope by completing this swim I can raise some important funds to support a charity that Dad was very passionate about.
Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
