Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025

I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Running for stroke

I'm Running a Half Marathon for the Stroke Association – Please Sponsor Me!

This year, I’ve set myself a big challenge: I’m running a half marathon to raise money for the Stroke Association – a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart, both professionally and personally.

Working in a stroke unit, I see everyday the life-changing impact that stroke has on individuals and their families. It can happen suddenly and without warning, turning lives upside down in a moment. The journey to recovery is long and often incredibly tough – physically, emotionally, and mentally. But in the middle of all that hardship, I also witness the power of determination, hope, and the vital support that organisations like the Stroke Association provide.

My personal connection to this cause runs even deeper. My grandad suffered a stroke, and it changed everything. Watching someone you love go through that is something you never forget. The stroke affected every part of his life, and ours – but it also showed me how crucial the right support can be in helping someone adapt, recover, and live meaningfully after a stroke.

That’s where the Stroke Association comes in.

They do so much more than raise awareness – they actively support stroke survivors after they leave hospital, helping them to rebuild their lives. From emotional support to rehabilitation guidance, they are there every step of the way. The Stroke Association also funds vital research into prevention, treatment, and recovery. This research is changing lives and giving hope to thousands of people every year.

So as I lace up my running shoes and train for this challenge, I’m asking for your help.

Please consider sponsoring me.

Every pound raised goes towards life-saving research and essential support for stroke survivors and their families. Whether you can give a little or a lot, your donation will make a real difference.

Let’s run together towards a future where more people survive stroke – and thrive afterwards.

Thank you so much for your support.
