We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

My Stroke Experience

Saturday 4th Apr
In March 2018 I had a stroke. 
It happened whilst I was asleep and I woke up with no feeling down my right hand side and found it difficult to speak. It was a frightening experience but I consider myself as one of the lucky ones as over the next few days my speech and feeling returned but it still took many months for the resulting fatigue to fade. Having experienced a stroke I know the difficulties it caused me and I have a great empathy for those who have permanent disabilities as their needs are much greater then mine were. 
I think raising money for the stroke association helps people who have been less fortunate than me and it enables support for every stroke survivor in their recovery.
I hope you are able to support me in my race and help the lives of other stroke survivors.
