For Dad

I'm running Newport Marathon for Dad. My number one fan my biggest supporter and my absolute best friend in the whole world. Everyday since you were first told you had a stroke has been so painful. The choices you made were not the best, but I am determined to do my best for you.

If you were here now I know you would be so proud of me and as much as the loss of you could have had such a drastic effect on me. I have chosen to make a promise to you to take better care of myself. in reflection of your illness and the complications of mental health on your physical health, I continue to train and I continue to run for you only. I signed up to run for us not for charity. I hope that nobody ever has to experience what you have experienced although I know how common strokes are especially in your generation now. However.. how fast paced life is right now strokes are much more common. Therefore I chose to run for charity after all.. not only for you but for others like you who need fundamental support and care and not just to be put in a ward with others of the same age who perhaps are at end of life when you were not nowhere near end of life at the beginning of all that.

I love you Dad and I absolutely devote this to you. I want to do you proud for the very last time. I love you and this one is for you.
