Why We’re Running the Great North Run
This year’s Great North Run is about so much more than completing 13.1 miles. For us, it’s deeply personal.
In January 2025, Nikita’s dad suffered a stroke. It was one of the most difficult and frightening times for our family. Watching someone so loved go through such a life-changing event puts everything into perspective.
Nikita’s dad has always been her hero. His strength, kindness, and determination have been an inspiration throughout her life. Seeing him face his recovery with such courage has made us both want to do something meaningful in return.
That’s why we’re taking on the Great North Run together.
We’re running to raise money for stroke charities that provide vital support, fund life-changing research, and help stroke survivors and their families through recovery. We know first-hand how devastating a stroke can be, and we hope that by fundraising, we can help others facing the same journey.
Training has been challenging at times, but whenever it gets tough, we remember why we’re doing it. Every mile we run is dedicated to Nikita’s dad and to everyone whose life has been affected by stroke.
If you’re able to support us, no matter how big or small the donation, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every contribution will make a real difference and means so much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting us on this journey. We’ll be thinking of Nikita’s dad with every step we take across that finish line.
❤️ Thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world to us.
