Ullswater Swim

Friday 4th Jul
So, it's just over a week until I swim the length of Ullswater Lake (7.5 miles).
Im raising money for Stroke Association as im sure we can all think of a friend, family member that has suffered a stroke.
Please, if you can donate as much or as little as you wish.

Chillswin event Ullswater (Marky Mark)

Saturday 12th Apr
So the photo is Marky Mark and me at last year's Chillswim event in Coniston where we swam 5.2 Miles end to end of the lake! His idea not mine I hasten to add! 😁
Having had a brilliant weekend camping out with lots of jolly japes as one would expect of 2 ex Royal Navy Field Gunners/Aircraft Handlers(best branch in Navy). We deemed the weekend a success having somehow managed to complete the event.  Which is not bad considering 12 months previous we were swimming with arm bands and wearing Bermuda shorts! Ha Ha
Having vowed at the end of the swim never to compete in such a tough event ever, ever again !
Weeks later, Mark contacts me as he reckons we can crack the 7.5 Mile swim in Ullswater lake the following year! 
Not one to let my mucker down I reluctantly agreed to do it with him.
However, tragically earlier this year, Mark suffered a Cerebellar Stroke which totally devastated Mark and his family as you can imagine.
Gutted that I am, my wingman is unable to complete it with me, I'm  looking forward to seeing him at the end of the Lake for a beer or two, if/when I finish HA HA.
Therefore, if you wish to donate any amount to this fantastic charity we would very much appreciate it.
So, in exactly in 3 months today on Saturday 12th July Ullswater Lake look out for someone on the edge of the Lake, nervously determined to get to the end without arm bands and Bermuda shorts for this great cause.
As he continues to build his strength,  I'm sure that we will complete other events in the future together.
Would love nothing more than to be doing with you mate!
