I'm fundraising for...The Stroke Association
I am running the Bournemouth 10k on Sunday 11th October!!!
Two years ago whilst exercising at the gym, I suddenly developed the worst headache of my life. I ended up at the GP who sent me to A&E where i was diagnosed with a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage. Following this I was sent to Queens hospital to have an angiogram which involved putting a camera through a main artery in my leg into my brain. It was discovered during the procedure that I am allergic to the contrast dye used. I suffered three stroke episodes and was put in intensive care for over a week. Thanks to the care of the neuro doctors and the love of my family I am still here to tell the tale. I walked away pretty unscathed with some slight mobility issues in my left foot and nerve tingling in my left arm. It could have been far worse. If I can get through that, then I can get through this 10k.
