I joined #TeamStroke for the Great Manchester Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I’m currently working for Menzies Aviation at Manchester Airport. I work along side aircraft refuellers and I have met some amazing people and have made some great bonds with my co workers . Sadly one of our co workers recently had a stroke which we were all taken by surprise. He has always been there to cheer people up at work whenever you are having a bad day. He loves to run so I have chosen to run a half marathon for the stroke association for everyone who has gone through a colleague, friend or a loved one who has gone through this.
