TCS London Marathon 2025

I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2025.

Recently as a family we've had to stand on our own two feet when it comes to strokes.

Christmas Eve 2023 my Step Mother in Law had a stroke. With help from the local stroke team, she's made a miraculous recovery considering she's 80 years old.

May this year my Niece had a stroke whilst driving, this resulted in her losing her vision in one eye. Research is still on going to clarify why this happened, considering she is only in her early 20's.

Earlier on this year my 18 year old daughter Paige lost her best friend Ruby (see image above) to a stroke. Paige and Ruby had been best friends since nursery and were like sisters.  She was the sweetest, most kindest girl, with the biggest heart. She will be missed deeply and will forever be a missing part of our lives.

After my stories above, I've been lucky enough and privileged to be selected to run the 2025 London marathon, raising funds for the Stroke Association.

I know with the cost of living money is tight at the moment, but If you are able to make a donation to my  charity page, it would be appreciated. Any amount would be greatly received.

I must be mad doing this, but from my recent personal experiences it's for a worthy charity.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
