I'm fundraising for my Uncle Chris 💙
In October, I'll be running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for the Stroke Association in honour of my uncle, Chris.
In 2022, Chris suffered multiple strokes, and after being admitted to hospital, he now lives in a care home. The strokes have had a life-changing impact, affecting his speech, mobility, and independence.
Despite everything he has been through, Chris is still the same person at heart. He still has his cheeky sense of humour, loves a good dad joke, and always enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
Chris loved being outdoors, walking, photographing nature, and making the most of every day. Chris may not be able to take those long walks anymore, so I'll be taking every step of this half marathon with him in my heart.
Seeing how dramatically a stroke can change someone's life has shown me just how important the work of the Stroke Association is.
I'm running not only for Chris, but for everyone whose lives have been changed by strokes. Every donation, no matter the size, will help the Stroke Association continue to provide vital support, fund life-changing research, and help more families facing the challenges that stroke brings.
