Sydney Marathon
Sunday 21st Jun30th August I’ll be running Sydney marathon. My second marathon in a city that holds a special place in my heart as the place my Nanny got to explore before she had her stroke.
Nanny had her stroke only a few months after I was born and six months after she got back from Sydney. It took her ability to walk and talk and ultimately took her ability away to be a typical Nanny. The one thing I will always remember is her smile as she saw you walk into her living room and the fact that Michael Bublè or Westlife was always playing in the background.
Majority of the stories I have heard about my Nanny were of her time in Sydney visiting her cousin. So it seems fitting to run Sydney Marathon in honour of her and to raise money for the Stroke Association.
The Stroke Association helps people to rebuild their lives after their stroke as well as helping the family members involved.
