Stride for Stroke

I'm taking part in the Stride for Stroke challenge!

I joined #TeamStroke for Stride for Stroke. I will be taking one step for each of the 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK. The 1.3 million steps challenge works out at 10,000 steps a day for 130 days.

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

My trainers are ready and Apple Watch charged, helps that I’m kicking off my challenge in Vegas Baby! My daily average is coming in over target … I’ll bank those extra steps .. I’m sure it’s not going to be as easy when I’m back home!
I’m averaging 17,459 … thanks for your support so far guys!

Wish me luck! 🍀 10,000 steps a day 🥵

It’s been a little while since I last supported Stroke Association, so now seemed like a good a time than any!

Those who know me well understand the emotional, physical and financially challenging journey we have been on to support my dad, who is a stroke survivor, with rehabilitation and day to day life following the trauma.

The Stroke Association is a charity incredibly close to me and they do amazing work to support all family members who have been impacted by the repercussions of a stroke.

Covid may feel like a lifetime ago now, but this, along with the cost of living crisis, healthcare cuts and limited NHS resources, charities like these could not continue without fund raising  and volunteering support.

If you can, please donate just a little, because a little goes a VERY long way … and failing that, regular posts of me desperately trying (and likely failing) to get my steps in might motivate you to donate, give you a giggle and it will certainly let drive me to get my but moving! 😂👨🏻‍🦽🚶🏻‍♀️🏆🥾👟
