I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
(Can't quite believe I'm saying this but) I will be running the London Marathon for the Stroke Association in 2026!
Working at the Stroke Association means this cause is very close to my heart. This year, around 7,000 people in Wales will wake up to the devastation of stroke. With a Senedd election around the corner, 2026 will be a pivotal year for visibility and engagement for the Stroke Association in Wales.
I'm aiming to raise more than £2,500 in sponsorship and have plans for some sort of fundraising event in the New Year, but for now, any amount would be much appreciated to get me on my way.
Running the London Marathon is a huge privilege and, having only ever run as far as a half marathon in my life - a huge challenge! Thank you.

Thank you, Katie. What an incredible achievement to make it to the London Marathon, and what an important effort to support stroke victims. As you know, strokes deeply affected my dear father. He survived three of them, each one more severe than the last, until doctors finally discovered an anomaly in his blood that was causing them. I’m sure that today, twenty years later, it would have been detected much sooner. Still, I’m grateful we were able to support him at home, and that he had the strength and determination to push through rehabilitation so he could continue living at home with only minimal help. Your effort means a great deal to families who have walked this road. Wishing you the very best on race day.
