Thank you so much to the amazing people who have donated. We’ve already reached the £100 target I set! Absolutely brilliant! I’ve increased the target to £200 now, let’s keep going and keep raising awareness!

Please share far and wide,

My experience.

Tuesday 29th Apr
As some of you may know, at the age of 26 I suffered a TIA (mini stroke) and it’s changed my life completely.
From being what I considered a relatively healthy young adult, to now being an adult on life long medicine, with countless appointments, tests and inconclusive results.
My TIA took my speech, whilst only temporarily, for at least 5 months I struggled daily with word findings and stuttering over my words - something I found increasingly frustrating from a personal perspective.
Imagine going to the hospital with no speech, and being sent home with a diagnosis of a migraine. That’s what happened to me. It took 2 months of me constantly battling to be sent for more tests before I eventually got heard. I went for an ultrasound and found out I had a torn internal carotid artery - it was then doctors realised that the loss of speech I’d had prior was actually a TIA, not a migraine.
I’d started a new job, which I had to suddenly take leave from in the blink of an eye. I’m so lucky to work somewhere with such amazing and understanding colleagues who have supported me endlessly since my experience to get back into work and remain at work - even if it is still phased!
Until it happened to me, I believed that things like a stroke or TIA’s were things that only happened to older people. However, I’ve since conducted so much research and it’s unbelievable how many people of all ages this has impacted!

To my family, friends and colleagues - I thank you for your love, support and generosity to me❤️
