It aims to raise money to help support stroke survivors who face a daily struggle to rebuild their lives and honour those who have lost a loved one to stroke.

I am a stroke surviour/have a disability, can I still take part?

add remove

Yes! We want everyone to be able to participate in Sip for Stroke. Part of the reason we have created this fundraisder is that it is an activity accessible to many.

When does Sip for Stroke take place?

add remove

We are asking supporter to take part during May, as it is Stroke awarness month. However, if you cannot take part during May you are welcome to do it during a time that suits you.

Is there a fundraising target?

add remove

There is no fundraising target for Sip for Stroke, we ask that you raise as much as you can.

Below are some examples of what your fundraising can do.

  • £150 could help pay for research into new stroke treatments, as we did with thrombolysis - a clot-busting drug that returns the blood supply to the brain that has transformed the outcomes of stroke survivors who have received it.
  • £300 could allow a befriending volunteer to work with a stroke survivor for up to a year, perhaps accompanying them on a bus journey once a week until they feel confident enough to take the same journey on their own.
  • £1,000 could pay for start-up funds for ten voluntary groups, helping them to start providing crucial peer support in their community.

How do I pay in my donations?

If you have an online fundraising page, you do not need to do anything as we will automatically recieve your donations.

If you have collected cash donations, the quickest way to pay is online: https://www.stroke.org.uk/donate/pay-in-your-fundraising-money

Please do not send any cash through the post as it's not safe. We'd really appreciate it if you could either bank the cash and send us a cheque for the equivalent amount or you can make the donation over the phone by calling us on 0300 3300 740.
