I'm taking part in the Great Manchester Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great Manchester Run 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Running the Manchester 10k for stroke survivors!
Thursday 24th AprAs a physiotherapist working in stroke rehabilitation, I have the privilege of supporting stroke survivors. Every day, I see firsthand the devastating impact a stroke can have—not just on a person’s body, but on their confidence, independence, and identity.
I witness people re-learning how to walk, talk, and live again with resilience and hope! And I see the amazing role that charities like the Stroke Association play in that journey.
They fund life-changing research, offer practical and emotional support to survivors and their families, and campaign for better stroke care across the UK. Their work truly makes a huge difference.
That’s why I’m lacing up my trainers and running 10K—not just for the people I work with every day, but for every stroke survivor out there.
If you can spare even a small amount, your donation will help the Stroke Association continue its vital work. Whether it’s £2 or £20, it all adds up—and it all counts.
