I'm taking part in the Great North Run as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run.
I’ve wanted to do the great north run ever since we’ve moved to Newcastle.
I am doing the run in memory of my Grandad who passed away four years ago. He was the most active man we used to joke about how much he walked everywhere and out of no where he had a stroke that changed his life. He was still my grandad still had us all laughing and had a heart of gold.
We all miss him so much and I know he would be so proud of me doing the great north run in his memory.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
