I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2024.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

London marathon 2024 ✔️

I want to thank the Horley Harriers  for the amazing opportunity to run in the London Marathon 2024! 

I knew when I claimed the winning ticket that training would be hard, as my fitness wasn't where I would have liked. But thanks to the harrier sessions and having Wendy, and especially Nic Nacs with me for the long runs I got to the finish line. 

I loved every minute of the day,  even the tough parts (maybe not the portaloo's 🤢). The atmosphere was unbelievable,  the music, confetti, bubbles and cheers kept the smile on my face. Cutty Sark and Tower Bridge were incredible. 

It was so lovely to see the friends and family that came to cheer,  which I know is almost as hard as running the marathon.
