I'm taking part in the Barcelona and Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026!

I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon in 2026 in memory of my Grandad, who passed away after suffering a stroke on boxing day. Watching my grandad lose the ability to speak or eat was heart-breaking, but what stayed with me most was his love for others. Even in those moments, his only concern was how we were coping, never himself. That was who he was, an endlessly kind, selfless person, who always put his family first.

My grandad supported me in every adventure I ever took on, no matter how big or small. As part of my training and fundraising, I will also be running the Barcelona Half Marathon in February 2026. This challenge is my way of honouring his loving spirit and giving back to someone who gave so much to everyone around him.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
