My Dad (Graham Dugmore)
Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

My Dad (Graham Dugmore)
Sunday 3rd AugHeather's story
In August 2021 I lost my dad (Graham Dugmore) suddenly to a major brain hemorrhage at the age of 68 . Once the consultants had decided there was no more they could do to save him he was moved to the stroke ward for palliative care, where he passed away peacefully the next day. The staff on the ward at Stoke Royal hospital were amazing and made sure that my dad was as comfortable as he could be and that we as a family understood what was going on at each stage of the process. On October 19th 2025 I am hoping to complete all 26.2 miles of the Yorkshire marathon in memory of my dad, I have chosen the Stroke association as my charity so other people in situations like my families can get support for themselves and their loved ones. If you can please donate to this amazing charity so other families like ours can be supported in situations like ours. Thank you 😊 xxx
