I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. 

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

A grandma, a mother, a sister and a friend. She was a women loved by so many and was such a kind soul. I would spend very school holidays with her, weekends would be strange if she wasn’t at our hosue and she was such an amazing person in our lives, anyone who crossed paths with her would be so lucky and always leave laughing or with a smile on her face. She was one of the funniest people I have known. Sadly, she suffered with a stroke which caused her health to decline, two years later she sadly passed due to the effects of the stroke. I understand I have fundraised for this charity before but I believe this charity deserves every ounce of support they can get !
