Blenheim Palace Super Sprint Triathlon
Monday 5th May As a personal challenge for my 60th year I have registered to complete the Blenheim Palace, Super Sprint Triathlon on June 8th.I have chosen to raise funds in support of the UK Stroke Association.
In July 2024, my brother had a Stroke. At 62, Neil was a fit, strong man, who worked full time. He was a keen golfer, who had just been voted Club Captain, when his life changed literally over night. No warning signs, no health concerns which may have sent him to the Doctors.
In his sleep he suffered a brain heamorage which left him unable to speak or move the right hand side of his body. Emergency surgery to treat the heamorage, left him with seizures and later he developed a pulmonary embolism. Now a very sick man we were told the risks of further surgery were to high.
Thanks to the initial medical intervention, medication, intensive physiotherapy and the dedication of his wife and close family he is now making amazing progress in a long, difficult recovery. Learning to walk and speak again.
