Stroke Association

I'm fundraising for...

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Blenheim Palace Super Sprint Triathlon

Sunday 11th May
WOW! Ahuge thank you to all my sponsors.
I've reached my target and still have donations from the collection boxes to open and submit.
Powerful motivation for me and fantastic support for the Stroke Association. These are just some of the things the funds could help with:
£80 could pay for a stroke survivor to attend a six-week computer course and learn vital communication information to support their recovery. £217 could pay for the Stroke Helpline for one hour, helping the families of stroke survivors support their loved ones.£300 could allow a befriending volunteer to work with a stroke survivor for up to a year. They might go with them on a regular bus journey until they feel confident enough to go on their own.Every donation is important and vital to the work of the Stroke Association.

Blenheim Palace Super Sprint Triathlon

Monday 5th May
As a personal challenge for my 60th year I have registered to complete the Blenheim Palace, Super Sprint Triathlon on June 8th.
I have chosen to raise funds in support of the UK Stroke Association.
In July 2024, my brother had a Stroke.  At 62, Neil was a fit, strong man, who worked full time. He was a keen golfer, who had just been voted Club Captain, when his life changed literally over night. No warning signs, no health concerns which may have sent him to the Doctors.
In his sleep he suffered a brain  heamorage which left him unable to speak or move the right hand side of his body. Emergency surgery to treat the heamorage, left him with seizures and later he developed a pulmonary embolism. Now a very sick man we were told the risks of further surgery were to high.
Thanks to the initial medical intervention, medication, intensive physiotherapy and the dedication of his wife and close family he is now making amazing progress in a long, difficult recovery. Learning to walk and speak again.
If you would like to support me, raising money for the UK Stroke Associations, please make any donation you feel you can.
Thank you.
