Esin & Gabija run Hyde Park for the Stroke Association
This March we will be running for the Stroke Association and we would love your support to help us reach our target. Please consider giving if you can, take a moment to learn more about how stroke affects lives and help us raise awareness.
Around 100,000 people have a stroke in the UK each year. Globally, 1 in 4 adults over the age of 25 will have a stroke in their lifetime. In the past year we have seen it impact a loved one, and how difficult life after stroke can be. The right support can make all the difference and the Stroke Association is doing crucial work to help people rebuild their lives after a stroke.
From funding critical research to providing specialist support, this is work that can touch the lives of the 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK. This is what your donation could support – every little really helps:
- £80 could pay for a stroke survivor to attend a six-week computer course and learn vital communication information to support their recovery.
- £217 could pay for the Stroke Helpline for one hour, helping the families of stroke survivors support their loved ones.
- £300 could allow a befriending volunteer to work with a stroke survivor for up to a year. They might go with them on a regular bus journey until they feel confident enough to go on their own.
We are grateful for any support. And don’t forget to send a cheer our way on 15 March so we can run our fastest 10ks as yet for #TeamStroke!

Dear friends and supporters,
On Saturday 15 March just gone we have successfully completed our 10k race in Hyde Park! We have also both set our personal best times in a 10k, all thanks to the motivation we got from having your support behind us. On the same day your generous donations allowed us to reach and pass our fundraising target of £1000 which will contribute towards the crucial work of the Stroke Association to help lives affected by stroke. We are so grateful to each and every one of you who has made this possible.
