I'm taking part in the Stride for Stroke challenge!
I joined #TeamStroke for Stride for Stroke. I will be taking one step for each of the 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK. The 1.3 million steps challenge works out at 10,000 steps a day for 130 days.
Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Day 4
Saturday 13th Jan I always knew that the weekends I’d really struggle. None of the taking little man to school, so a bit of dancing didn’t really cut it. Must make more of an effort tomorrow. Need to try play catch up a bit. Feeling a bit down on myself. ShareDay 3
Friday 12th Jan Hasn’t gone so well today but I was left to my own devices, which is always a dangerous thing. Unfortunately didn’t hit my daily target today, but will try again tomorrow ShareDay 2
Thursday 11th Jan Myself and little man went on a school trip today to the zoo (so I did 8k easily)! We had great fun seeing the lions, red pandas and penguins! Really good day out and I’m very grateful I got to experience it! ShareDay one
Wednesday 10th Jan I have downloaded “map my fitness” app and am hoping that works to track my steps, but i think I’ll keep added them to the anologue one. Bring on the next couple of months ShareHello
Wednesday 3rd Jan I’m new to all this but here we go! I had a stroke January 2022. Luckily they found a cause (I have Moyà Moyà syndrome) and was able to treat it pretty fast. I didn’t have surgery luckily just medication, but it was the scariest 2weeks of my life. My wedding had to be postponed (feb 2022) and I now have sensory issues I deal with everyday. I also missed my 4 yr olds bday. The staff at the Walton centre were really good and I felt safe even though I didn’t always know who I was. I was then eventually discharged, and started on my road to recovery. I have 6monthly video calls with my Doc which have all been positive. I look forward to my continued recovery and hope that what ever I raise will do some good for someone else. ShareThank you to my sponsors
