I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024.
I decided to run this half marathon for stroke association because on the 16th April 2023 my dad suffered a stroke and didn’t wake up for 3 days. When he did wake up he then spent 11 days in hospital where he lost vision in his left eye along with other problems he faced.
This was really difficult for us as a family. However, with the support my dad got he was able to come home and make further improvement with the help from his family and friends and the stroke nurses who worked closely with him.
We later found out my dad had suffered 2 strokes due to his stroke affecting the middle of his brain.
He still has a long recovery but he has already made so much improvement and I couldn’t be more proud.
So I am running this half marathon to raise money so other people can receive the support which we have and to help those affected by strokes.
