Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

For those who don’t know in 2002 my Grandad Pat suffered a life changing stroke, he would never talk again.  But with help around him he learnt to walk again and live his life to the fullest.  Until he died he was involved in stroke research projects with hospital universities, he was a man who would never give up and would always be willing to help with any projects that may go on to help anyone who had a stroke. 

I’m honoured to support a cause so close to me and one that does vital research so more and more people get the help they need. 

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
