Why am I doing this?
This October myself and my children Lexi, Jack, and Lily will be taking on the North West Tough Mudder on Saturday and then I’ll be following it up with the Namix Games on Sunday to raise money for the Stroke Association. We will be doing this in honour of their Nanny Janet.
Janet is working hard to return to a normal sense of life after her stroke back in June. In spite of the severity and multiple near death moments following it, she has shown courage, humour, and stubborn determination that the best of Mother in Laws would be proud of. Seeing her work through each challenge no matter how big shows what it really means to embrace the suck and keep moving forward. Thankfully she has the love and support of my amazing wife Jenny and her sister Nikki. Sadly however some are not so lucky.
Seeing what Janet is going through has shown to me just how important proper support is not only from a medical perspective when in hospital, but also what comes next. This is especially important for the stroke victims who don’t have family around them. The Stroke Association provides the help to those who need that care, strength, and guidance when they need it most. This sponsorship will help them reach even more people who would otherwise face recovery alone.
Your donation will help someone like Janet obtain the rehabilitation they need, build hope, and enjoy the supportive encouragement they deserve in order to rebuild their life as best as possible in their post stroke world, especially those who are not as lucky as Janet.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting this challenge, your donation will mean so much to someone who is having a really bad time of it far more than you will hopefully ever have to know.
