I'm running the TCS London Marathon for #TeamStroke
My 6 months of training and then running the 26.2 miles of the marathon will be very challenging, but it feels like a small feat compared to the challenges that 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK face.
So please please make a donation to support this incredible charity the Stroke Association, and less importantly – me!
At one time I assumed stroke only impacted the older generation or those in poor health. That was until ten years ago, when my 19-year-old work colleague suffered a stroke.
Overnight, my colleague’s life was turned upside down and she was left unable to work in the short term. The Stroke Association helped my colleague’s recovery and highlighted to me the amazing work this charity performs.
100,000 strokes happen in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
The Stroke Association supports people to rebuild their lives after stroke. This charity relies on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
I am so proud to be a member of #TeamStroke for the London Marathon. I have never run a marathon before , but can’t wait for the big day on 21 April 2024!
