I'm taking part in the Stride for Stroke challenge!
I've decided to join #TeamStroke for Stride for Stroke. I will be taking one step for each of the 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK. The 1.3 million steps challenge works out at 10,000 steps a day for 130 days. I have a desk job so some days, I can be fairly inactive. This will be a big challenge for me to hit this daily target!
My motivation for this cause is to raise awareness of the impact of strokes on our loved ones and raise money for Stroke Association. I want to raise money for those in a similar situation as my uncle who's paralysed down one side of his body after a stroke last year. I want to reflect on these walks and appreciate what it means to get out of bed every day, be able to walk and see nature as not everyone gets that privilege!
Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. Stoke Association believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
