I'm taking part in the Great Manchester Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great Manchester Run 2025.
I’m taking part in the Manchester run in memory of my partner’s dad, a man who fought an incredibly hard battle for four years. A stroke sadly started this four years of stress, upset and fight. For much of that time, he was bedridden, unable to do the things he loved or even live the life he once had. His illness was relentless, and yet, he fought every single day. There were times when doctors put him on end-of-life care, but he refused to give up. His strength, his will to keep going despite all the challenges, is something that will stay with us forever.
Sadly we lost him in July 2023 so by running in the Manchester event, I’m honoring his memory and the way he kept fighting, even when things seemed impossible. Every step I take will be for him – for the man who never gave up, no matter how difficult the road was. This run is my way of carrying his legacy forward, honoring his strength, and celebrating his life.
