There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Why I’m running the half marathon
Saturday 21st Dec I have decided to the run the half marathon this year with the stroke association in honour of my great uncle who unfortunately unexpectedly passed away after suffering a stroke this time last year. As a student nurse in my final year of training I’ve also witnessed the struggles patients and their families have gone through when suffering a stroke and long painful recovery afterwards. Coming to the end of my training, I wanted to challenge myself in fundraising for an important cause and personally accomplish running a distance I never thought I’d be able to.
